FabNewport at The Portsmouth AgInnovation Farm

We were excited to welcome back FabNewport to the farm this Summer!

FabNewport gives local middle and high school students the opportunity to participate in summer programming during a six-week full-day summer program. This summer, FabNewport connected participants with over 40 community partners on Aquidneck Island (including AgInnovation)! Each learner chooses an area of interest, such as STEAM, art, farming, sailing, music, cooking, or wellness. FabNewport is guiding these learners to build new competencies as they dig deep into their chosen area of interest and empowering them to live a powerful future.

AgInnovation engaged children in their chosen areas of STEAM, farming, and natural science. The vision of FabNewport is “for all students to have the skills, confidence, and commitment to positively impact their communities – enabling them to craft their futures.” While at the farm, students participated in a range of outdoor farm activities such as caring for chickens; planting, mulching, and watering crops; learning how to fish in Sisson Pond next to the farm; learning about the impact of soil health and how a sustainable farm operates.

We are honored to partner with this amazing organization and look forward to next summer!
